I received PhD degree in the area of synthetic organic chemistry after doing research at the interface of chemistry and biology.  My current research interests involve rational drug design, especially the discovery of direct acting antivirals (DAA) and anticancer compounds. The scientific endeavors, which excite me the most are developing small organic molecules with inhibitory activity against proteases of hepatitis C virus and dengue virus, discovering novel breast cancer specific proteins, and delineating mechanistic details of disease-specific enzymatic proteins. To approach these challenging tasks, I use the tools of synthetic organic chemistry, computational chemistry, and biochemical sciences.
